Hi! My name is Jacquie… you can call me… Jacquie, Jax, Jack, JC, jcrohnie, or whatever other clever nickname you can come up with! 🙂 I am always open to new nicknames. I am 30 years old and have not fully embraced being 30 yet, lol. Although, 33 is the prime of life right? That’s what I heard anyways 🙂 I also love comedies and am a reality TV junkie.
I also have Crohn’s disease. I was diagnosed when I was 16 years old. It’s been a roller coaster ride to say the least. On a good day, I can function in society (see pictures below) and on a bad day I am confined to the couch (also see picture below).
Here’s are some pictures of me on a good day:
Here’s me on a “bad” day…
No Shame. Surrounded by my dogs living on my couch. At my parents house. Yes, I said at my parents house. I intend to share my realities about living with Crohn’s disease… even the gut wrenching details. I suffered/suffer from multiple GI and non-GI symptoms related to crohn’s disease. I had surgery in 2007 to have 2 feet of my colon removed. I was in “remission” or pseudo-remission for 5 years and symptoms came back fiercer than ever.
I tend to find the humor in most of my everyday life- so I plan to share my humor with you. I plan to share the realities of anxiety and depression as well. I tried to be so resilient to both anxiety and depression… but the truth is it happens. It makes me human… not super girl! Which is good because I don’t think I could sport spandex and a cape, lol. 🙂 Anyways, I intended to share my everyday adventures and misadventures. diet and lifestyle changes, holistic approaches I try, medications, symptoms, and my life with Crohn’s!
Happy reading and thanks for stopping by my blog! Please join me as your read about my adventures through life! 🙂
(Yes, I was too tired to cross the finish line… so my brother carried me. But WE DID IT!) Fatigue is a bitch, but each day I get stronger!
In August of 2015- I completed my first half marathon! I walked it as part of fundraising for Team Challenge for CCFA! I never thought I would be able to complete a half marathon but I did! A great experience and accomplishment!
